UniPark is collaborating with the UWA Student Guild to turn fine payments into food donations for the Guild's Food Pantry.
How it works:
- Purchase $25 worth of non-perishable food items.
- Keep your purchase receipt.
- Present the food items, the receipt and your original parking infringement to the Guild Student Centre (GSC) within 7 days (including the day the fine was issued).
- Done! Your fine will be waived for your goodwill.
Foods and Goods accepted:
Non-perishable food items such as rice, pasta, noodles, long-life milk, jar sauces, tinned food such as baked beans, lentils, chickpeas, tomatoes, canned vegetables, oats, cereal, crackers, muesli bars, tuna, salmon and sardines.
Everyday basics such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and sanitary items are also always welcome.
Important details and requirements:
- Donations must be received within 7 days (including day of issue) of receiving your fine.
- The original fine must be provided to the Guild Student Centre (GSC) staff. Reprinted infringements are not eligible.
- Only fines issued for no valid session in the red, yellow or green bays are eligible to swap their fine for food.
- Food must be at least 2 months from its use-by or best-before date and must be sealed and unopened.
- Valid for UWA fines issued in August 2026 only.
- The Guild has the right to refuse any donations that do not meet the requirements above.
What is the Food Pantry?
🤲 The Food Pantry is a support service run by the Guild's Student Assist Department. It enables students to attain daily essentials in a confidential and convenient way.
🧺 It provides basic short-term food relief to UWA students who are struggling to meet the expenses associated with education, living, and achieving basic nutrition.
📈 In the last two years, we've experienced an increase of over 500% in the number of students accessing our Food Pantry.
🏡 Current costs of living are hitting students hard with rising rent, fuel and food prices forcing many to make sacrifices when it comes to mealtime. We've seen countless students struggle in this economic environment, reflected in the substantial increase in our Food Pantry usage.
🤗 We want to help as many students as we can! The Food Pantry can be costly to maintain and relies on regular donations from the UWA community.
What can you do to help?
The Food Pantry is generously supported by regular donations from the UWA community. The UWA Student Guild is always seeking donations of non-perishable food items: rice, pasta, noodles, long-life milk, jar sauces, tinned food such as baked beans, lentils, chickpeas, tomatoes, canned vegetables, oats, cereal, crackers, muesli bars, tuna, salmon and sardines. Everyday basics such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and sanitary items are also always welcome.
If you are able to make donations to the Food Pantry at any time please drop these at the Guild Student Centre (GSC). If you would like to collect donations on behalf of your Department/Faculty, you are welcome to collect a donation box from the Guild Student Centre.
Do good. Clear your fine. Support students in need.
