I'm not running to be another cog in the machine - I'm running to transform the Guild into what it should be: a fearless advocate that demands high quality education, erodes barriers for students, and delivers real solutions.

After two years on Guild Council as Ethnocultural Officer and Guild Councillor, I've witnessed our Guild's untapped potential squandered by inaction. But I have also seen amazing opportunities for advocacy and greater support we can realise together.

As an executive of three clubs and cofounder of two, I understand the vital role that campus culture plays in connecting students and building careers. This vibrant community deserves protection, not reactive catchup politics.

My vision is a cooperative Guild that represents students authentically, stands up boldly, and employs honest, collaborative approaches.

The Guild's potential remains untapped because it has lacked the vision to unleash it.

Time to REVIVE student unionism.

I understand firsthand how fulfilling student life can be. As an active participant in club culture - President and Co-Founder of UWA’s public speaking club, Speaker’s Union - I have interacted with countless students, ensuring every voice is heard. My experience as a Guild Volunteering OCM has also taught me the value of diverse perspectives and social inclusion which I will bring to this role.

I know how stressful and confusing the process of setting up a new club is, and the journey of being a club exec with limited resources and information. I want to ensure the experience for all new and existing SOC clubs is smooth, friendly and efficient. When clubs are adequately supported, they have the ability to create thriving campus life.

As SOC President candidate, I will fight to ensure every club receives the resources to REVIVE campus life for all students and enrich their uni experience.

Hi I'm Nathan, in my second year of commerce studying business law and marketing, and I'm running for Ed Council president and NUS. Personally, I love the opportunities and support UWA provides to students through the guild.

In these roles I hope to enact meaningful change that reflects the diverse beliefs and perspectives of our community, with an aim to create a university environment where present, and future students can feel safe and secure on campus. Ensuring that student voices and ideas are heard and actively reflected in actions of the guild. I hope to push progressive motions towards greater student safety and sense of community in UWA, as well as increasing students' trust and sense of value in regard to the student and guild relationship.

I’m Angelica, currently a third-year student majoring in Asian Studies and Mandarin.

I’m running for Public Affairs Council President with REVIVE, and there isn’t another role that I could be more excited for.

I am currently the marketing officer on PAC, and I bring my immense passion for arts and culture, two fundamental pillars of the council. My role as Secretary on the DanceUWA committee has shown me the importance of culture and the arts for our campus culture, and that’s something that I want to defend with REVIVE.

The Guild should be a body of dedicated and passionate student representatives who defend and contribute to student life. I have a clear vision for PAC and REVIVE is the team you can trust to deliver it.

I’m Katrina, a third year studying the Bachelor of Music and currently an Ordinary Guild Councillor. Last year I was involved with the Music Student’s Society as the Education Representative and previously as a Fresher Rep.

I’m so grateful for the welcoming, supportive and diverse uni community we have that has made my time at uni so enjoyable and I hope that you get the chance to experience this too.

As a musician, organisation is a skill that comes naturally with balancing practice, rehearsals, performances and personal life as well as collaboration, communication and attention to detail.

I’d love the chance to be your General Secretary, alongside the REVIVE team, giving me the opportunity to put my skills to use, improve my typing proficiency (currently 75 WPM) and most importantly, make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes so you can have the best uni experience possible!

During my time at UWA I have seen how patriarchal ideas can be replicated in the classroom. With a combined two and a half years of experience being a student leader for women and gender diverse students, I know how to create welcoming spaces that are accessible in every sense of the word.

As Women’s Officer for REVIVE I will have two main priorities: to create safe, welcoming spaces for women and gender diverse individuals, and to make education about internalised misogyny and patriarchal structures available to all students. University is a time for learning and growth, and I believe the Women’s Department can help all students learn the value of unpacking internalised misogyny, fighting patriarchy, and understanding how this will make our communities better for everyone.

Hi, I’m Nina, a Marine and Conservation Biology student, and I’d be thrilled to become the next Environment Officer! Over the past year, I have been an active volunteer in various efforts to protect our environment, from beach clean-ups to promoting sustainable practices. I am passionate about being a part of something that brings people together for a good cause.

I want to build on the amazing work done by the previous officers and show students that sustainability doesn’t have to be limiting or boring, it can be fun, exciting, and empowering.

From reducing single-use waste and promoting biodiversity to working with clubs on creative green initiatives, I want to make caring for the environment something everyone can enjoy and feel proud to be part of.

With REVIVE, I believe we can put sustainability first and focus on bold action to keep our campus and communities beautiful.

As a first-year international student, I bring a fresh perspective shaped by both distance and discovery. I want to be part of something bigger, to help REVIVE the Guild to create spaces where every student, no matter where they’re from or how new they are, feels like they belong and are supported. Moving across continents alone was daunting but getting involved changed everything for me, helping me find purpose, people, and a sense of home when I needed it most. Joining UWA Arts Union and Amnesty UWA showed me the strength of student-led spaces and how community and advocacy can ease even the deepest feelings of homesickness. I want to give back, contribute meaningfully, and shape a campus that’s more connected, compassionate, and representative of all voices, committing to build support for mental health and wellbeing to ensure students are getting the most out of their Guild.

As a third-year UWA student studying Psychology alongside Law and Society, I’m driven by a passion for wellbeing, leadership, and community; values that sit at the heart of the Sports Officer role. Sport has shaped who I am: from representing WA in state soccer to captaining my school team, I’ve learned how to lead, communicate, and uplift others. It also sparked my interest in holistic health, especially nutrition, something I’m eager to champion through student-led, inclusive initiatives.

Beyond sport, my involvement with the UWA Slavic Society has deepened my appreciation for cultural diversity and strengthened my skills in outreach, event promotion, and building meaningful connections. I know how to listen, bring people together, and turn ideas into action. Backed by strong public speaking experience and a genuine desire to make campus life healthier and more connected, I’m ready to advocate, collaborate, and deliver real impact as your next Sports Officer.

As a first-year student, I’ve already engaged in student life by serving as a Fresher Representative for the Health Students Society, where I’ve helped raise the voices of health science students.

I value quality education and student support that prepares us for future success. I want to ensure students feel confident in their university journey and excited about what lies ahead.

I’m passionate about REVIVE-ing the Guild by building an inclusive, supportive campus where everyone can access internships, exchange programs, and career pathways. I’ve seen many first-year students struggle with forming friendships and navigating opportunities, and I aim to change that.

My focus is on strengthening community, improving access to resources, and making university life both meaningful and enjoyable for all students.

Hi I’m Amani — I’m a first year pre-law Arts student and I’m running to be an OGC and a member of NUS this year. As a fresher, I bring a new perspective, unjaded by internal politics. I’m not afraid to ask, why are things done this way?

I’m running because I believe the Guild needs fresh blood, new energy, and a hard shift away from performative leadership.

As someone newly immersed in UWA’s vibrant student life, I’ve seen how much this campus community has to offer. I’ve also seen how disconnected the Guild can feel to its students. That needs to change. We all deserve a Guild that actually listens, shows up, and follows through. And that’s a Guild that I will fight for.

It’s time to move beyond tradition for tradition’s sake. It’s time to REVIVE the Guild.

I love exploring systems, patterns, and human connections, whether through the structure of a sentence or the structure of a climbing wall. I’m studying Mathematics, Korean and Indonesian.

This year I have had the exciting, and sometimes challenging, experience of starting a club from scratch at UWA. Launching the UWA Bouldering Club has been a rewarding experience, but it was also difficult as someone who hadn’t had much experience in the Guild space. I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming it can be for students to truly engage with the Guild and its services.

That’s part of what motivates me to get more involved! I’d love to help make the Guild welcoming and accessible for all students, especially those who might feel unsure where to begin. I bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and a real commitment to building inclusive and supportive communities. REVIVE is here to help people feel connected, confident, and involved.

Hi, I’m Dylan! I am a third year economics student. Over the past 3 years, I have been deeply involved in the club space at UWA being on the Leisure Committee. During this time, I have seen firsthand what UWA has to offer and have been privileged to make meaningful connections.

As your OGC I aim to make the Guild better recognise the value that clubs bring to student life and provide them more support as they are the backbone of a flourishing university experience. However, I am aware of inaction within the guild, and because of this I am passionate about reviving the guild and making it a place that is inclusive and centres students first. I believe that the role of clubs is to provide community, connection and opportunities to students, and that starts with supporting the people who make it possible.

I’m Josh. I am a second-year Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) student, who currently represents the BPhil Union as their President.

As part of my degree I did a research placement focusing on conspiracy theories and what causes distrust in institutions of knowledge.

The Guild has great potential as a strong advocate for students, and REVIVE is the team that students can trust to represent them.

I believe that in an age of increasing polarisation, universities have an obligation to be transparent and in line with best practice for disseminating accurate information. I am running for OGC with REVIVE because of my desire for increased transparency on the part of the university and their advocacy for students whose voices are marginalised.

As an OGC I want to transform the UWA Student Guild, and have it set an example when it comes to representing students and transparency in its decision making.

Hi, I am Lisa Ma and I’m passionate about contributing to student life. Through my active involvement in ACYA, I’ve seen how community and identity shape student experiences on campus. I’ve been involved in grassroots political campaigns and community initiatives, which have deepened my understanding of representation and made me feel strongly connected to the people around me.

The Guild should be a vital support for students - its decisions shape campus life for all of us. I want to ensure the Guild truly reflects every student. That’s why I am running with REVIVE for OGC. My drive for inclusion means I want to make sure UWA is more connected, representative and student-led.

Hi, I’m Mat, a third-year Bachelor of Economics student, and I’m running to be an Ordinary Guild Councillor (OGC)

Since starting at UWA, I’ve been actively involved in campus life through committees like Science Union, the Ethnocultural Department, and the UWA Italian Club. In 2023, I joined the UWA Slavic Society and played a key role in rebuilding it after disaffiliation. Now serving as President, I’ve seen firsthand how vital the UWA Student Guild is in supporting clubs and building a vibrant campus culture.

However, there’s still work to be done. Many students feel disconnected from the Guild and underrepresented in decision-making. With my leadership experience, I want to bridge that gap by fighting for transparency, club autonomy, and student-focused advocacy. I believe the Guild should serve all students, not just a few, and I’m committed to making that vision a reality. Vote REVIVE and I’ll ‘Sank you later’.

Time to REVIVE student unionism.

Hi, I’m Reuben, and I’m running for OGC with REVIVE.

The Guild must boldly defend student interests. After years of decline, it’s become cautious and ineffective, failing to address the real issues students face. Right now, our campus culture is under threat through new rules that disproportionately affect smaller, cultural spaces and organised students demanding change.

My involvement in Amnesty International UWA and the Palestinian Cultural Society has thrown me into advocacy - we have consistently demanded improved student safety and accountability from those in power.

UWA students need a Guild that’s confident, assertive, and decisive, one that backs students at every step and defends our right to a world-class education and campus life.

Only REVIVE has the vision to transform the Guild into a force that truly serves and defends UWA students.

Hand in hand, we’ll fight for you.

My name is Ruby, and I’m in my second year studying Human Rights. As a rural student who felt isolated when I first came to university, I understand how important connection and community are. That’s why I’m running for Ordinary Guild Councillor.

It’s so important that all students feel included, supported, and safe on campus – ideals increasingly threatened by the digitisation of classes. Two years of living on campus have given me the opportunity to make friends from diverse backgrounds, offering insight into what exchange, international, and rural students believe is necessary to improve their university experience.

I want to help revive the UWA community, so the values of the Guild reflect our shared aspirations for a more sustainable, inclusive, and exciting student experience. (And hopefully, a place where we can actually afford a pint at the Tav!)

After a year and a half on the Guild, and my fourth year at uni, I’ve come to recognise the potential of the Guild to be working for YOU - to provide advocacy, welfare and support. To build community, inclusivity, and truly represent the student body. We should be reaching for the stars and creating innovative solutions that make our university a better place for everyone.

Having served as President and VP of Amnesty UWA, I have experience with activism and am keenly passionate about standing up for vulnerable groups. This year as Ethnocultural Co-Officer I have also pushed to embrace diversity across our campus and create spaces where people feel comfortable to be themselves.

As an OGC I want to help REVIVE community on campus and foster an environment where students feel heard and understood, where they feel truly seen regardless of degree, background, hobbies, and interests.

Kaya!

I’m Shantisha, a second-year student studying Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Commerce (Marketing). As a mixed Aboriginal raised overseas, my lived experience allows me to bring an open-minded and empathetic approach to representation. As the Ethnocultural Department's Campaigns Director I have led and created advocacy projects for Indigenous sovereignty and histories.

I’m running for Guild Council and NUS Delegate to advocate for a more inclusive academic culture. I am interested in exploring how academia represents and excludes minorities and marginalised groups across educational fields and sidelines cultural knowledge. I believe all students should be equipped to consider the ethical and social implications of their studies. I want to help build a campus where diverse voices are not just heard, but centred. With REVIVE, I believe we can push for these inclusive practices to be prioritised to create a safer environment for all students.

The Guild allows us as students to make a real impact and engage with university life beyond just our studies. It should be space where everyone feels valued and supported – reflecting the diversity and experiences of UWA’s student community. I am passionate, and care about advocacy and amplifying voices that often go unheard. I am excited to turn that passion into meaningful action by continuing to learn, listen, and collaborate to build a more inclusive and accessible environment.

Like many of you, I am still navigating life as a uni student – though I see this as a strength. I bring a fresh perspective and an authentic desire to revive what it means to represent the everyday student. I began my involvement this year as a PPE Union Fresher Rep, and now serve as Treasurer. I am keen to keep contributing as an OGC and NUS delegate for 2026!
