Uni is about so much more than a degree. It’s an opportunity to make lifelong friends and have unique experiences you won’t find anywhere else! Maximise your time at UWA and get involved in our awesome campus culture - meet new people, build up your skills and experience, and have fun while you do it!
Clubs
With over 180 Guild-affiliated clubs and societies at UWA covering a broad range of interests, you’re bound to find the club (and community!) for you. Look up the clubs you're keen to check out on Facebook or Instagram and give them a follow, so you never miss an event or an opportunity to get involved. If you're looking to expand your skills and experience while at UWA, club committees and executive positions can be great leadership opportunities.
The best way to join a club is to visit them and sign up at Club Carnival on the Tuesday of Week 2. Most of the clubs will have stalls, giving you a unique chance to see everything on offer!
Faculty Societies
Every School (formerly Faculty) has its own society, known collectively as FacSocs. These societies sit on the Education Council and represent the students studying in that discipline. Through your FacSoc you can get involved in things like Inter-Faculty Sport, study nights, social and networking events and more.
We recommend following your FacSoc on social media to stay up to date with anything important regarding your School.
Guild Committees
Keep
an eye out for opportunities to join Guild committees, where you can have a say
on issues affecting all students and be a part of improving the student
experience at the ground level!
Want to take your involvement even further? The Guild Elections run in Semester
2 each year and provide an opportunity for students to be elected to the Guild
Council.
What’s on?
You can keep up to date with what’s coming up by following us on Facebook and Instagram @uwastudentguild; checking out the Guild Events calendar on our website; or by opening up Guild Weekly, our weekly e-newsletter sent out during semester to all Guild members. With almost 2000 events run each year, there’s pretty much always something happening!
Volunteering
Guild Volunteering is your connection to meaningful volunteering opportunities with life-changing organisations, both on-campus and in the wider community.
Guild Volunteering is partnered with over 300 not-for-profit organisations working across all areas of the community. Whatever you are passionate about, whether it’s environmental sustainability, animal welfare, homelessness or refugee issues, we can help to link you to change-making organisations to volunteer with through day trips, regional trips, and events and regular micro-volunteering activities for those looking to volunteer without the ongoing commitment.
