Meditation Centre

The UWA Guild is opening a new Meditation Centre in Semester One 2022! The Centre offers students an opportunity to experience the many benefits of meditation under the guidance of a trained meditation practitioner, and is free to use on weekdays.

DAILY DROP-IN MEDITATION: WEEKDAYS 12PM-1PM
TWICE-WEEKLY GUIDED MEDITATION: TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS 1.15-1.45PM

Ref Building, 1st Floor, Rm 191 (first right at top of stairs).  

The mental health benefits of practicing meditation on a daily basis include:

  • Improved concentration and focus, 
  • Enhances self-awareness and self-esteem, 
  • Reduces levels of stress and anxiety, and 
  • Fosters compassion and kindness
  • Provides us with clarity
  • Helps us to distance ourselves from our emotions and thoughts by being objective
  • Learn to connect with ourselves at a deeper level

Meditation also has benefits for your general physical health:

  • Regulates breathing
  • Lowers blood pressure and heart rate
  • Improved pain tolerance
  • Improves the Immune system
  • Detoxifies the body
  • Overall better mental and physical wellbeing

Learn new skills and and gain tools to support your own mental health whilst at University. Please drop in at the new Student Assist Meditation Centre to either practice your own daily meditation in a calm and peaceful space, or learn more about the benefits of meditation by participating in a twice-weekly guided meditation session. 

Proof of vaccination required prior to entering the interior of the Ref as mandated by the State Government. If unwell, please do not attend any sessions at the Meditation Drop-in Centre.
