The positions of FABLE Research Representative for the 2021 PSA Committee has received 2 nominations, and will be elected via online voting:

Fahimeh Mofrad

Hi. I am Fahimeh Mofrad. I am a second-year PhD student in the School of Design and am studying landscape architecture with the focus on the role of urban green spaces and green infrastructure.

I was an active member of non-profit charity from 2013 to 2018, being involved in holding concerts and exhibitions for the charity. Also, I was a member of the scientific association of Landscape Architecture during my master’s degree in Iran and cooperated in holding a national conference and several workshops.

Being an international student keeps me motivated in engaging with people from different nationalities and background. Meanwhile, as a PhD student and a casual teaching staff, I have become familiar with research fellows’ challenges, and I am passionate to work in my full capacity to enhance the research experience at UWA.

I wish to be considered for the position of Ordinary Committee Member for Faculty of ABLE (research) in 2021. I believe with all the experiences I gained before I would be helpful to meet the objectives of PSA.

Willi Busse

G’day and Guten Tag, I’m Willi and I would like to be your FABLE Research Representative. Previously I studied History of Technology and Cultural Studies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Humboldt-University in Berlin back in Germany where I migrated from four years ago. Coming from a small village, 15 years ago I was the first in my family to go to university. Now I am a mature age student and dad of a toddler in my second year of a doctorate researching the editorial coverage of newspapers regarding migration in Japan, Australia and Germany with supervisors from both the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

For me the time is right to get involved with the PSA and give some of my time back in support of our beautiful community. In these uncertain times as the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Education has been dissolved and the Schools fending for themselves, as your rep I aim to give my fellow HDR students a voice and shine a light on your important research. I will strive to promote the needs and wellbeing of our diverse group of students to support your quest for knowledge.

You will receive your unique code for online voting via email on Monday 9 November, 2020. Voting will open from 5pm on this day, and close 5pm Monday 16 November.
