QFin x IMC Trading Simulation

QFin UWA have partnered with IMC Trading to run an algorithmic trading competition where you will be introduced to markets, exchanges and trading strategies.

IMC is one of the world's most active proprietary trading firms and a key market maker. Come and learn how to build a trading bot with mentors from IMC trading, as they take you through the process from start to finish, including an introduction to markets and how exchanges work as well as an explanation on some basic trading strategies.

The challenge is simple; as a team you’ll need to build a trading algorithm that runs on a simulated exchange and optimise it to beat your opponents! Winners will be announced on the day, and you will have the opportunity to win an exciting prize!

Come along solo, or with some friends, and you’ll be placed into teams of 2-3 people on the day. You do not require any prior knowledge in trading to join this competition - just remember to bring your laptop! Basic knowledge of Python will be beneficial. IMC representatives will be there to answer any and all of your questions regarding algorithmic trading and opportunities at IMC.

The competition will be followed by a discussion about grad & intern opportunities at IMC and casual networking to end the night. So join us after classes for a fun night!
