MD Orientation Camp

The MD1 Orientation Camp is an officially organised welcome event designed to support first-year medical students as they transition into medical school. The camp aims to foster a sense of community, promote peer connection, and provide a supportive and inclusive environment for students to meet their cohort, senior student leaders, and support networks.

The event will include a range of structured social, team-building, and wellbeing-focused activities, facilitated by trained student leaders. Activities are designed to encourage participation, inclusivity, and collaboration, while ensuring the physical and psychological safety of all attendees.

The camp will be conducted in accordance with University and Student Guild policies, with clear expectations around respectful behaviour, consent, alcohol management, and participant wellbeing. A Code of Conduct will apply to all attendees, organisers, and leaders. Designated welfare officers and camp leaders will be present throughout the event to manage safety, respond to concerns, and provide support where needed.

This event plays an important role in promoting a positive cohort culture, early peer support, and a safe introduction to university life for incoming medical students.
