Conservation Volunteers Australia: Weeding at Thompsons Lake

Join us and help protect and restore wetlands, so that these special environments can continue to do the vital work they do ensuring we all have clean air, fresh water and safe futures. We will be focusing to help rehabilitate the bushland surrounding Thompsons Lake. This event will require us to manually weed invasive plant species found at this wetland. We are going to focus on removing cotton bush as it is a declared pest in WA and can spread significantly during germination. It is important for us to remove these well established invasive species in order for native plants to thrive and provide habitats for key species in this ecosystem.
