Socialist Alternative is a left-wing, anti-capitalist activist group.
Capitalism is a brutal, barbaric system of violence and oppression, and it is getting worse. We organise activism and build campaigns to fight against war and injustice. We have thrown ourselves into protesting against the genocide in Palestine, and the complicity of our university and government. We want to build a socialist organisation which can stand up to the horrors of capitalism, war, poverty and oppression.
If you want to join or get involved, we do Marxism discussion groups, which are casual discussions about a wide range of topics–Marxism, how capitalism works, sexism and racism, radical history like the Russian revolution, and much more! We run them like a book club, alongside the 'Introduction to Marxism' book by Tom Bramble. We want to change the world, but to do that we need to understand it.
