South Eastern Regional Centre for Urban Landcare (SERCUL) are ready for their first major planting events for 2021! Help to re-vegetate Blue Gum Lake, a previously degraded, dry lake bed to provide habitat for native fauna.
SERCUL was formed in 2003 as an independent Natural Resource Management body in Perth, Western Australia. SERCUL brings together the community, business and government to develop and implement projects that improve the health of our waterways and other ecosystems.
Date: Friday 19th March
Activity Time: 9:00 am - 12:30 pm (15 minute morning tea break included)
Getting there: Meet at Guild Volunteering at 8:20 am and we will travel in the Guild Mini Van to site. We will be returning to Uni approximately 1:00 pm. OR you can meet on site at 9:00 am at the grassed area near the corner of Canning Ave and Rogerson Rd, Blue Gum Lake
What to wear and bring: All volunteers MUST wear long pants and enclosed shoes (e.g. runners, sneakers, steel-cap boots, etc). We also recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses and encourage all students to wear sunscreen on the day. Bring lots of extra water (more than you think you'll need) and snacks/lunch depending on how long you wish to stay.
