SNAGS Mingenew Camp

Mingenew is a small farming town in the Midwest region. Farmers in this region are renowned for innovation, leading the adoption of new agricultural technology and practices. Mingenew has a small IGA, Roadhouse, Bakery and nursing post. 

The Mingenew Midwest Expo is located in Mingenew, Friday 12 August 2022. It’s a significant event for the region, attracting 1000s of visitors and providing an important fundraising opportunity for volunteer groups. This is a great opportunity to engage with prospective employers in the grains and livestock industries.

The activities planned for the trip are:

• Take part in the education trial at the Mingenew Midwest Expo, which is largest agricultural field day in the northern wheatbelt https://www.mmwe.com.au/). 


• Be introduced to prospective local and national employers through Fiona’s network of industry representatives. 


• Visit a crop variety field trial with Mingenew Irwin Group. 


• Visit a farmer (Agricultural Science Alumni) with a perennial based pasture system and discuss ewe management planning.
