Public meeting hosted by the Socialist Alternative UWA club about the 1917 Russian Revolution.  The Revolution overthrew a despotic regime and led to the formation of workers councils.  Mainstream histories of the Russian Revolution dismiss the self-activity and initiative of the working class, and argue that the revolution inevitably led to Stalin.  This public meeting will be from a revolutionary socialist perspective and will critique both liberals and stalinist understandings of the revolution.
