This National Volunteer Week come and help us conduct an AUSMAP Micro-plastic survey at Matilda Bay. We will be monitoring for plastic pollution across foundation sites along the Swan River and Perth coast. This is a project aimed at empowering individuals and communities to take action on one of the world’s most solvable environmental issues – ocean litter. The survey will be conducted by Thomas Crutchett, a PHD student from the UWA Oceans Institute.

Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) will also be running a separate macro marine debris activity along the river. CVA is committed to reducing the amount of plastic litter entering our creeks, rivers and oceans and causing harm to the animals that call these places home. Plastic is around 60-95% of the litter in our waterways and oceans, and causes a wide range of issues in these environments.

To say thanks, we will be treating all the volunteers to a free lunch on the river (we're talking LOADS of pizza and delicious drinks ya’ll)
