Fresher Welcome

Our annual 'Fresher Welcome' is where we welcome our new members into JSS and help them socialise with some of our returning members and also amogst themselves.

We will be cooking Okonomiyaki, a savory version of Japanese pancake, made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage and an optional choice of meat to serve to our guests. It is usually served with tonkatsu sauce and mayonaise but it will be an optional and self serve for those with dietary restrictions. 

The Fresher Welcome will then end as it always does, with a watermelon piñata (traditional japanese game where a watermelon is split, usually played in the summer time).
