Recent advancements in artificial intelligence has reignited a debate in philosophy that appeared at the invention of the very first computer: "can an artificial being be conscious?"

Is it possible that ChatGPT will one day think, feel, and act just as humans do? Or will it only ever be a simulation of consciousness? Is consciousness a result of physical properties is there something more?
