The club's main purpose of participating in the event is to raise the club's awareness among university students and to recruit more members.
We are planning to sell Burmese traditional food such as Fried Tofu, Tofu Salad and Shwe Yin Aye as a fundraiser. Shwe Yin Aye is a burmese dessert which contains coconut milk, sugar, sweetened sticky rice, sago pearls, pandan jelly noodles (cendol), cubes of kyaukkyaw (coconut jelly), and a slice of white bread. The tentative prices are as below:
* Fried Tofu -- $7
* Tofu Salad -- $8
* Shwe Yin Aye -- $7
There will be a $5 discount on the food for on-site membership signups. We will also be providing free thanaka for everyone who will be interested to try. Thanaka is a paste made from ground bark, and when used as a beauty aid, it is said to soften the skin, prevent wrinkles and sunburn. We usually call it a natural Burmese sunscreen.
