Our Summer Camps are the biggest event of our calendar year, and they are the ultimate embodiment of our mission to positively impact the long-term mindset of seriously at-risk children in the Perth community. Our camps achieve this by offering a unique combination of two key elements that are fundamental to a healthy childhood: positive childhood experiences, and exposure to positive personal relationships, role models and social interactions. This January, we are running 2 x week long Camps at Point Peron Camp School, Rockingham to provide volunteer opportunities to students and provide relief from stressful home circumstances for the most disadvantaged children of Perth.

As a brief overview, the Camps will run from 7th-21st of January 2024, with approximately 145 ppx on EACH camp (95 kids and 50 volunteer leaders). On Camps we have 2 main roles that student volunteers can apply for: Leaders and Freelancers. All Leading volunteers are organised pre-camp into Uni Camp “families” consisting of appoximately 8 each, normally with a male and female leader responsible for 3 boys and 3 girls. All Freelancing volunteers are not assigned to any specific kids and, instead, have the responsibility of running the behind-the-scenes aspects of camp, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely and supporting Leaders when necessary.
