2026 Sem1 JSS Freshers

JSS Fresher Welcome is a social welcoming event for returning and new JSS members, primarily the new first years from O-week. It is to help our members socialise with one another and get to know our committee members, as well as to know more about the club in general.

We will be making Kakigoori, a traditional Japanese shaved ice dessert in varying flavours for our members. We will also have some small cultural activities like origama, kendama, and/or fukuwarai.

Towards the end, we will be holding Suikawari, also known as Watermelon Piñata where you strike the watermelon in half with a stick. It is traditionally a Japanese game played in the summer.
