International Students’ Service

The International Students Service is a department of the UWA Student Guild that exist to look after the welfare of all international students studying in UWA.

Background

We are the peak student body representing international students in the University and act as an umbrella organisation for smaller international students associations and clubs on campus.

All full-fee paying international students are automatically members of ISS. We are fully funded by the Student Guild and these funds are used to organise and subsidise an assortment of activities, sports, games, parties and trips. We also look after the welfare of all international students on campus by advocating on issues that concern international students. Issues that concern us include unnecessary fee hikes, unfair academic assessments or potential discrimination.

ISS is always looking for people who are willing to give their time and energy to representing international students in UWA. Feel free to email us if you are interested in joining any of our sub-committees (Welfare, Social, or Multicultural Week) and if you feel up for it, you can try to contest for one of the executive positions during the annual ISS elections.
