Your Guild Sub-Councils
As an affiliated club, you quite often hear the terms ‘SOC’, ‘PAC’ or ‘Ed’ being thrown around, but what does it mean?
What is Societies Council (SOC)?
SOC supports most Guild-affiliated clubs with administration, funding and general club support. SOC also runs events such as Club Carnival and training sessions to equip club representatives with the tools they need to be effective leaders.
What is Public Affairs Council (PAC)?
PAC supports clubs focused on areas such as social impact, multiculturalism, faith, volunteering and the arts.
Clubs must also be affiliated with SOC to affiliate with PAC.
What is Education Council (Ed)?
Education Council (Ed) supports Faculty Societies connected to specific schools or degrees it consists of representatives from all Faculty Societies (FacSocs), Guild Departments and an elected Education Council Committee, providing a forum to address issues affecting students across campus, and off campus, at both a local and a national level.
