We all need a little support sometimes! The Guild offers you support services through faculty societies, Guild departments and student reps. We’ve also got our professionally trained Student Assist team on hand to help you with any academic, welfare or financial issues.

Student Assist Officers

Our professional and friendly Student Assist Officers are here to support all students, postgrads and undergrads, with any academic, financial and welfare issues you may be experiencing. This service is completely confidential and here to make sure you get the most out of your time at uni, so if you ever need a helping hand or a friendly face to chat to, just contact Student Assist!

Some of the things a Student Assist Officer can help you with:

  • Are you experiencing difficulties with your studies due to personal reasons?
  • Do you disagree with a university decision and want assistance with the review process?
  • Do you want to make a complaint about the quality of a service received, the quality of your education, or the behaviour/actions of a staff member?
  • Do you need assistance with financial issues?
  • Do you need information, support and advocacy for an academic matter?

A Student Assist Officer can help you with all these things and more. Phone 6488 2292 or email assist@guild.uwa.edu.au for assistance.

If personal problems are getting in the way of your study, if you’re having academic concerns and need special consideration or want to appeal against an assessment, we can provide you with advice and assist you in every part of the process! We provide info, support and advocacy for a range of academic matters and are more than happy to help you in any way we can.

We at the Guild know how tough it can be on students financially! We offer interest free loans, grants, advocacy, financial counselling, budgeting assistance and provide any other financial advice and referrals you may need. If you would like to talk about your financial situation or would like to access one of the Guild’s financial supports, feel free to contact us.

Our welfare services include assisting with health and wellbeing issues, tenancy and accommodation, Centrelink and referral information. We offer direct assistance and information and can advise you on other organisations and support programs that are better equipped to help you.
