I believe that Launch is the group running in this election that can best deliver for students at UWA. I’m passionate about ensuring that we get students back on campus. Students spending time at uni is a fundamental part of the university experience and Launch is the team that can deliver. We need students to believe that they’re better off being on campus, attending lectures and social events. Launch is the best team to deliver this.

It is integral that the student guild put students first. I’m running as a candidate for Ordinary Guild Councillor because Launch is the only party that will put students first.

Hi. My name is Connor, and I am running for Launch.

As a current resident at St Catherine’s College, I know that Launch will deliver for college row. Launch will achieve this through promoting an impactful student experience - something college row currently leads at.

Sundowners, pub crawls and so many other events are key to the UWA experience. Currently, these events are struggling and desperately need the help of a strong student Guild. Only Launch can deliver these exciting events.

When I look across Matilda Bay, I see opportunity. An opportunity for jobs and internships in our CBD. The Guild needs to spend less time focussing on politics and get back to focussing on students and their futures. Launch is the only group that can deliver this.

I know that Launch will fight for all university students and that is why I am backing them.

I Nathan Cuthbertson wish to nominate myself for the position of ordinary guild councillor for the period of 2023. I will be nominating myself under the party of Launch.

I am running with this party because of the policies and values it espouses. They include but are not limited to that of:

  • Putting the role of student advocacy as priority of the guild
  • Advocating for the quality of education
  • Reaffirming the importance of student social events, especially that of club sundowners as instrumental to the student experience at university, and;
  • Holding the guild accountable

My name is Will Duff and this year I’m running for Launch for the position of Ordinary Guild Councillor. As a student my number one concern is my quality of education. The current guild status quo has continued to put politics above students. Only Launch will fight for students and their education, first. Combined with this, I want to see students come back to campus, our campus must be a thriving place of activity. Launch will strongly advocate for a strong campus culture by ensuring events such as sundowners and pub crawls are a cornerstone of the UWA experience. Only Launch will fight for students first.

A vote for Launch is a vote for students taking back control of our Guild.

I’m running to be your Launch representative on the Student Guild Council to help build a better university for all current and future students. For far too long the guild council has been focused on matters that are out of their control and has misused and wasted the SSAF. If I am elected my first and foremost priority will be the students of UWA. I will fight to maintain and improve UWA’s unique campus culture with an increased focus on improving the quality and quantity of events such as sundowners and pub crawls. I will fight for the university to take an increased focus on internships and experiences that will increase chances of employment after leaving UWA. If elected I will be your voice on the guild fighting for you each any every day.

My name is Claudine Hutton and I’m running for Launch.

Launch is the best team who can deliver for the students of UWA. The Student Guild is funded by your money and that’s why it is so important that the guild actually supports and gives students the best experience and education.

Education is why all of us go to university and I believe Launch has the plans and ideas that will ensure that every student has the best learning outcome possible. The guild needs to be a stronger advocate for the quality of education at UWA. Students deserve to have a greater voice in the quality of their education. I believe Launch is the party that can provide the ideas and policies that can ensure the best quality of education at UWA.

I’m running for Launch because they have the best vison and policies to support UWA students. The fundamental reasons that we go to UWA is to get a job. Launch’s ideas and policies on internships and work experience, shows that they understand this. Through my experience with clubs like Women in Business, I’ve seen first-hand the benefits that are achieved when university clubs and organisations engage with future employers and businesses.

With my time spent on clubs that truly want to engage with students, I have seen the benefits of an organisation that is apolitical and who puts students first. I believe that the UWA student guild should be the same. For too long guild councillors and leaders have put politics before students. Launch is the only team that will put students ahead of politics.

I love going to university and I love going to UWA. I have been going to UWA since I was five. This place has been a part of my life since I can remember.

You come to UWA not just for an education, but to make new friends and memories.

I remember my first day at UWA. I was a clueless fresher. I’m running to ensure the next generation of clueless freshers continue to love going to UWA.

Launch is the best team to ensure this.

Launch is the team that actually puts students first, not politics.

Launch is the team that will ensure that UWA Institutions, like the sundowner, don’t just exist but thrive.

Launch won’t grandstand on past achievements.

Launch won’t promise the world to only underdeliver.

Launch’s only promise is to the students, to ensure they love UWA as much as I do.

I’m running for Guild Council because I believe in a guild that serves the students. A guild that provides better outcome for students and are not obsessed with external politics. Student’s want representation to the university and not to fight a crusade about politics in Canberra, Washington, or London. LAUNCH is the only party that can deliver this. A party which does not aim to influence “the national conversation” but rather fights for students right here, right now.

I pay the SSAF because it is compulsory and I’m okay with that. What I’m not okay with is the blatant disregard in how those funds are used. The many ways our “representatives” promise the world and under deliver. There is no greater display in how insular and narrow-minded the Spark/Star guild is that their sole achievement was reforming guild elections rather than delivering better outcomes for actual students.
