Collection of Information
The Guild collects your information directly from data that you input into the Guild’s website, or by your authorization from a third party. When you visit, register, place an order, or enter details on the website, information including but not limited to your type of operating system or browser you are using; the address of the referring site; the date and time of your visit; and the address of the pages you accessed may be collected, analysed and stored.
We do not keep a record of the IP addresses from which users access our site except where you have specifically provided us with information about yourself, in which case we also record your IP address for security purposes. An example of this would be when proceeding to a checkout to finalise an order you may wish to make. After completing the form provided, your IP address will be stored along with a transaction number that allows us to track your order.
Use of Information
The Guild will not sell, trade or otherwise disclose your information to any third party, except when legally required to, or in the case of a breach of the Charter of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The Guild will not use your personal information other than for a purpose that we have made known to you, a purpose that you would reasonably expect, a purpose authorised by you, or a purpose required by law.
We may use the information we collect from you when you visit, register, place an order, or enter details on the website in the following ways:
- To report on web traffic and trends in internet traffic.
- To allow us to better service visitors.
- To allow us to better respond to customer service requests.
- To quickly process your transactions.
Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep such information strictly confidential. In addition, all the information you supply through the website is supplied through an encrypted session via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. To view and verify the SSL Certificate, simply click on the lock in the address bar of your browser while on the Guild’s website.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) or other third-party identifiers to compile data regarding user interactions and other functions as they relate to the website.
